On Sunday 26th March 2000 I went back to the town hall to see a DUSTY SPRINGFIELD tribute show. The show, which was directed by JIM DAVIDSON and starred KAREN NOBLE as DUSTY not only featured her solo career but also her career in the SPRINGFIELDS, there were also other songs covered to boot.
Some of the songs performed were GOING BACK, LOLIPOP, SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT WITH FRED, I'LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER YOU, ISLAND OF DREAMS, YOU'RE MY WORLD, TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM, BORN TO LATE, I CLOSE MY EYES & COUNT TO TEN, IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, HOW CAN I BE SURE (which I remembered by DAVID CASSIDY), LITTLE BY LITTLE, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF, an excellent version of WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS?, I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU, and the show ended with YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME.
I enjoyed the show and could tell that it was directed by JIM because in the first half of the show there was a compare that told jokes that I reckon were written by JIM, plus he wore a waist jacket that I reckon was a JOHN VERGO throw off from BIG BREAK.
